Unlike many gundog breeds the German Shorthaired Pointer is still very much a dual purpose gundog. The natural instinct and desire to hunt,
point and retrieve game is still strong in the breed and the number of full and dual champions is testimony to that fact.
Our own dogs are trained to work for the gun and we shoot over them in true HPR style with a small band of like minded friend on outside
days which we book with a number of shoots. The dogs also pick up on a local duck pond and accompany Mike pigeon shooting.
Puppies from our litters have been sold to working homes where they are much valued hunting companions, and one pup is
in training as a sniffer dog with the West Midlands Fire service, perhaps not quite the work you would expect be she loves it !!!
